Cole Haan is a fashion label that started in Chicago in 1928. The name comes from founders Trafton Cole and Eddie Haan. Originally Cole Haan was a men's footwear label.
Today it offers many products, including men's and women's dress and casual footwear, belts, hosiery, handbags, small leathergoods, outerwear and sunglasses. A wholly owned subsidiary of Nike, Inc.
Cole Haan has its headquarters in Yarmouth, Maine and its design center in New York City. James Seuss is the current CEO of Cole Haan. The company operates about 95 Cole Haan stores in about 25 US states and Canada, as well as another 60 stores in Japan through Cole Haan Japan. The company also sells its shoes, belts, hosiery, handbags, small leather goods, fine outerwear, and watches in stores run by other retailers.
In 2004, Cole Haan began branching out into high-end accessories (encroaching on Coach) and outerwear and has incorporated Nike "Air Technology" into some of its footwear. Cole Haan outerwear is produced in Florence, Italy factories by G-III Apparel Group.
